Keep your FireWire 400 peripherals working with latest Macs PDF Print

Following the advent of the Unibody MacBook Pro lineup earlier this year as well as the new technical specifications of the Desktop lineup, FireWire 400 is now nowhere to be found in the Mac range, except for the Polycarbonate White MacBook, and has been replaced by the much faster FireWire 800.

Naturally, even though FireWire 800 brings much better value to end users, Pro users still have FireWire 400 peripherals they will want to keep using for another couple of years.

The good news is that FireWire 800 is backward compatible with FireWire 400 bus wise even though connectors differ. Even a better news, Paoma holds stock of FireWire 800 to FireWire 400 (4-pins or 6-pins) cables.
